Open Elected Offices

Midway City will elect a mayor and two city council members during the 2025 Municipal Election. The mayor and each council member will serve for a term of 4 years. Qualified individuals may complete a Declaration of Candidacy at the City Recorder’s office at the Midway City Office Building, 75 North 100 West, Midway City, between 2 June 2025 and 6 June 2025. Office hours are weekdays between 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications to be a candidate are:

  1. A registered voter.
  2. Resided within the municipality for which the candidate is seeking office for 12 consecutive months immediately before the date of election.
  3. If the individual resides in a territory which was annexed into the municipality: must have resided within the annexed territory of the municipality the 12 consecutive months immediately before the date of the election.
  4. Maintain their primary place of residence within the municipality that the elected officer represents, during the officer’s term of office.
  5. In accordance with Utah Constitution, Article IV, Section 6, a mentally incompetent individual, an individual convicted of a felony, or an individual convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in Utah until their right to hold elective office is restored.

Currently holding the position of mayor is Celeste Johnson. Currently holding the two council positions open for election are Jeff Drury and JC Simonsen.
